This year’s OT Show – the national event for occupational therapists, by occupational therapists – was a huge success. The show took place on Wednesday 26th and Thursday 27th November at Birmingham’s NEC.
Last year, the show had 2188 attendees from the occupational therapy sector. This year, the figure was already beaten by Thursday morning. Around 3000 OT professionals had attended by the beginning of the second day.
We had a fantastic time at the show. Back by popular demand was our sweet shop stand, but this year we went bigger and better! Members of our Sales team created two giant candy canes for the stand, giant ‘sweets’ with the Clark & Partners logo and embroidered tablecloths with candy canes and lollipops.
Our sweet stand attracted lots of attention and we were rushed off our feet. At one point, there was a queue of 40 people waiting for their sweet fix! We also screened a video that we had put together especially for the show and gave away goody bags.
TV’s Dr. Hilary Jones opened the show early at 9.30am as thousands entered the show.
OT professionals enjoyed numerous educational seminars with topics ranging from dementia and independence to working with children. Some of the speakers included doctors, lecturers and occupational therapists. The show was such a success last year that this year, coaches full of OT professionals came from around the UK.
The exhibition hall was twice as big as last year, with lots more exhibitors attending. Twitter was abuzz with OT professionals sharing their enjoyment and positive comments live from the show.
We arrived at the show with enough sweets for over 2000 people. We ended the show with just a few marshmallows and jelly beans left!
We couldn’t have asked for more success. Thank you to all who visited Christie, Debbie, Louise and Natalie at our stand – it was lovely to meet you. A special thank you to all who made our stand look amazing – in particular our Internal Sales & Administrator Manager, Debbie, who put lots of time and effort into creating our candy wonderland.
See you at next year’s show!
