Tomorrow – Saturday 17th January – is the first annual Disabled Access Day across the UK and it hopes to be the first of many. The aim is for disabled people and their families to visit a place they’ve never been before.
The idea is to encourage people of all disabilities to access somewhere new and lots of organisations are getting involved by offering discounts and showing how accessible they are.
The nationwide event has been created by a group of disabled people and their family and friends in Scotland. This includes Euan’s Guide who are also sponsoring the event. Euan is a Motor Neurone’s Disease sufferer, who set up his website to advise other disabled people of accessible venues around the UK.
Our friends at Accessible Derbyshire are also getting involved. They are taking on the challenge of visiting as many accessible places in Derbyshire as possible throughout the day. They will be capturing their challenge on camera so keep checking their Twitter feed @AccessibleDS.
Here at Clark & Partners, we are also taking part in the event by offering 10% OFF EVERYTHING for one day only! Simply visit one of our showrooms and quote ‘Access Day‘ to one of our friendly team members to receive your 10% discount. Alternatively, enter coupon code ‘ACCESSDAY10‘ at Clarkshop.co.uk when you reach the Checkout. The offer ends at midnight, can be applied online or in our shops and is available to everyone.
