  Post Title:   Wheelchair Inspection Technician
Place of employment:
Preston, PR5 8AS
Hours of work:
8:30 to 5pm Monday to Thursday, 8:30 to 4pm Friday.
Job Description:

If you are looking for a hands on, practical, workshop based role working with a great team of colleagues you should apply to join us at our Wheelchair Service Repair Centre.

The role, which is based at our Bamber Bridge workshops in Preston, PR5, is primarily to support the checking required prior to delivery of NHS wheelchairs to patients.

You will need to have a good standard of practical skills with a technical mindset, and not be afraid of getting your hands dirty. At the same time you will need to be able to complete the basic standard documentation / work sheet which is required as part of the process and be comfortable with undertaking basic computer input.

There is great variety across the working week as you will be carrying out pre-delivery wheelchair inspections (PDIs) to ensure the chairs are satisfactory for issue, and also be involved in checking deliveries, handling and maintaining a small stock area including some parts ordering as required, completing occasional minor repairs on wheelchairs, and being flexible enough to provide other ad-hoc support including general housekeeping / cleanliness within the workshop when this is required.

There might even be occasions when you would be asked to support on the road deliveries or collections and so holding a full driving licence would be a definite advantage for your application.

We will support you with in-house training as the service we provide, which is under contract to the National Health Service, is quite individual making this role somewhat unique.

If you are looking for a working day that has variety and challenge and you have the essential  ‘can-do’ approach to your work along with practical skills and the requirement to be willing and able to work in a flexible manner, we are waiting to hear from you.

To apply for this position please send a covering letter and CV to cv@clarkandpartners.co.uk
